In the total energy consumption of large-span industrial buildings, the energy consumption during construction accounts for approximately 20%, while that during the usage stage accounts for about 80%. When it comes to energy conservation in large-span industrial buildings, infrared radiation heating cannot be ignored, because energy conservation in buildings here encompasses both the energy conservation during construction and that during the usage stage. In northern China, heating is an important aspect of building usage. 
 
Compared with convective heating, infrared radiation heating raises the temperature of the inner surfaces of the building envelope (higher than the temperature of the room air), thus reducing the heating temperature compared with other traditional convective heating facilities, achieving energy conservation, and creating a heating environment that is beneficial to the human body. It also reduces the heat loss to the inner surfaces of the building envelope through radiation and increases comfort. Due to the characteristics of uniform heat dissipation in infrared radiation heating that makes people feel comfortable, and its advantages of convenient management, no occupation of usable area, no noise, no convection, high efficiency and energy saving, and small maintenance volume, it is especially suitable for occasions where traditional heating methods are difficult to solve, such as open spaces, places with large heat loss, occasions for rapid or intermittent heating, and occasions with large ventilation. 
 

	For large-space buildings, infrared radiation heating equipment is suitable for use in situations where there is residual heat generated during operation, and in places without explosive gases, dust or media. It has better economic benefits. For factory stations without heat sources but with natural gas, compared with the heating system of newly-built boiler rooms, the infrared radiation heating system should be a better technical and economic choice. Especially in terms of economic methods, through the economic comparison of boiler water heating and infrared radiation heating systems, the equipment assembly of the infrared radiation heating system is economically reasonable.
